Performing Artist Fitness Centers – 5 Facts to Help You

As a performing artist, have you had any difficulties with working out publicly? Because people tend to be a bother, to be starstruck, or to just literally drool while staring at you? You know, like how you all tend to act when meeting the man or woman of your dreams.

Yeah, it’s flattering, but in the long run it becomes extremely frustrating. And awkward. So with that in mind, you have to take note and be aware, of your environment and yourself. Here are some things you may want to consider when you are going to fitness centers:

Place

You would have to choose the right place. Working out at an overly public place has a lot of people, meaning potentially a lot of fans or anyone that can recognize you.

We need to choose fitness centers that are not easy to go to, like those hidden gems in the corner of the streets when they serve good food. Also, it would be better if the place suits your image. Be in a place wherein you won’t stand out.

Time

As much as possible, go at a time when there are less people. If you can in the midnight, then, go. If not, there are less people at the usual time of work which is 8am to 5pm.

Apart from the usual work hours, you can go really early in the morning or really late in the evening. Less people. But yeah, it still depends as well on the location. Be conscious of the time when the fitness center becomes populated.

Outfit

Refrain from wearing anything too attractive, or too unusual. Even if you are sexy and you know it, and you really want to flaunt it, please do so in a civilized manner.

No to very thin cloth where some parts of your body may be seen through, and no to very revealing apparel that accent and attract attention.

Avoid wearing those very exposing tank tops, or those spaghetti straps and really short shorts. Dress appropriately. It’s a fitness center, not the beach or the runway. As for caps, they actually help cover your face in some angles. So it is all up to you if you seem comfortable with it while working out.

Attitude

Like the outfit, refrain from doing things that will stand out. Do not drop the weights. Do not be too noisy when exercising.

Do not destroy the machines or equipment. Do not be all over the place, in a way that may inconvenience others also working out. In a yoga class, dance class, or other fitness routines, do not be that irritating guy that makes fun of every move. Be mature. You should get to know simple courtesy at the gym, at yoga centers, and many more.

By attitude, I also mean to be civil. Well, you get that already by being a performing artist and all. If people want to approach or talk, then do so. Just also courteously let them know if they are already somehow disturbing you. Be disciplined, always.

Refrain from posting every single work out you did. As much as possible, do not seek attention to yourself. I guarantee, it will affect you negatively in the long run. And be humble when people recognize you. Do not let it get to your head and start acting like you own the place. Unless you really do own the place, then just do things that will not make you run out of business. Alright?

Inspiration

Fitness is good for your health. You would need to take into account what could or will happen in terms of your career if you do not have a healthy lifestyle. Be confident in yourself, and if you do not feel comfortable then be with a friend, read lots of latest fitness trends and guides(1).

Encourage and inspire each other. Fitness, in a way, is also going to be good publicity.

With that, I hope that you guys have had further insights as to what you can and cannot do. Keep in mind that fitness is something good, so don’t let that popularity get in the way of your healthy lifestyle.
